Couldn’t Access Backend Properly Once Installed

I’m not entirely sure what you mean. Do you mean that you can’t access your admin pages at all? Or only the Rotating Tweets admin page?
Do you have the latest version of WordPress? Which language are you using?
How did you install the plug-in? Was it via
/wp-admin/plugin-install.php
?What do you see when you go to
/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=rotatingtweets
– or go to Settings -> Rotating Tweets in the admin page?As a quick PS, what error message do you get? It might be a memory problem. Could you also post a list of your other plug-ins?
Hi Martin,
I have version 3.9.1 of WP and I’m using the Avada theme in English
When I installed your plugin, I couldn’t access any pages on my backend including the ones you listed. I had to go to phpMyAdmin and disable the plugin in order to get back in again.
I don’t get any error message as I can’t see any pages!
I’m keen to know if you have any idea what the problem is? It might be something silly I’m missing?
I don’t have many other plugins:

I’m surprised that you needed to go into phpMyAdmin – I’d normally start by deleting the directory.
The plug-in I’d be tempted to try switching off is wp-google-drive – mainly because lots of people are reporting memory problems in its support pages. Rotating Tweets does need quite a bit of memory to handle the tweet information – and that could cause a clash.
A couple of others (Revolution Slider, Fusion Core) aren’t listed on the WordPress plug-in directory so it’s hard to judge them – but I’ve not seen them listed as causing memory problems. They may cause JavaScript problems, but there is some code in Rotating Tweets designed to cope with Avada templates on this.
The revolution slider and fusion core are for the Avada theme. Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll try without the Google Drive activated and report back.
Did it solve things?
Hey Martin. Big apologies on this 1. I think it was to do with a memory issue. I changed the php config file to allow the memory usage to be expanded to 64 and now many apps I was having trouble with and getting the white screen of death with work perfectly. I must say in the end though I’ve gone with Twitter’s widget you can customize yourself for my site. I found it to be the best for customization and allowing direct follows etc.
PS – I changed my vote from broken to works.
Many thanks. 🙂
Rotating Tweets gives more control over fonts and styling – and also rotates – but I fully recognise it doesn’t (yet) do everything the Twitter widget can do!
No problem, Martin. Good luck with your endeavours and thanks for being on top of things!
