I’m able to output custom post types using the shortcode, however I realize the documentation might be misleading.
Here’s the shortcode I’m using to output a custom post type with the slug cpt-1, and showing other cpt-1’s related by a custom taxonomy with the slug ct-1:
[ssrp title="My Related Posts" post_types="cpt-1" taxonomy="ct-1"]
The part that’s missing in the documentation is the taxonomy shortcode attribute will default to category if not specified, and you’ll therefore need to explicitly specify the the taxonomy attribute for custom taxonomies. I will add the defaults to the plugin description to clarify this – thanks for the heads up!
