• My wife and I are photographers and I also run the Dashboard. We migrated our site to GoDaddy 2 weeks ago by doing a backdoor out from under our previous IT, due to very poor support and possible shady antics.

GoDaddy updated the WP version automatically when we migrated and everything from the user side is good. When I tried to develop a post, I could not get the NextGen gallery to link to the post. The galleries are functional on their own.

When we updated all of the plug-ins, the site blew up. When clicking on a gallery from the user side, would get the “site not found” error. We reverted the site back and restored to a safe point so the site would continue to function for the user. However, the linking to new blogs still does not work.

GD investigated and strongly believes that a custom link was installed in the back end HTML that they could not continue to dig into. They recommended I find a developer that could extract that code and set things normal. They and others indicate that this custom link could be an unethical way to retain me, or get one more chargeable. I remember them telling me not to update because you don’t know if the plug-ins will work. GD recommends otherwise, one key being security.

I would like to work this out on my own. Would anyone have any suggestions???
