    It is a bit of a holdover from when I first started asking for translation help, before I had the process figured out very well.

    But I’ve kept it in place because I like to have you post a thread so that other translators can see that a particular language already has someone volunteering.

    I see now, but honestly, at first when I read your comment about posting a thread in the support section I found it a bit weird, or not the right place.

    Perhaps I should make a sticky thread with the instructions, and just have translators post their intent all on that thread, would that make more sense?

    Would a lot better and the support section won’t fill up with threads that doesn’t have actual issues to fix on the plugin.

    OR, simply, just put a link for the contacting form in the update details and you will receive everything directly! 🙂

    I think I’ve got a solution that will keep the forums clear, and help translators get started more quickly. I’ll create a page on my website with all the instructions necessary to contribute. The first instruction will be to post a comment on the page so that I and others will know their intent. After that, potential translators can get started right away with no delay, and it will serve as a central reference where all translators can see past, current, and potential translation efforts.

    It will obviously also have instructions to contact me directly for any questions and to send the finished translation via the form also (I’m trying to think if there is a better way to do that portion, but I want to keep it simple).

    Hmmmm.

    I see, but if that’s what you want, you can put your plugin up on one of these crowd translating services.

    That would be THE solution.

    Looks like they all cost money, and I’d rather focus on recruiting translators from those who are already familiar with the plugin. It gives people a bit better context for what they are translating. But you’ve definitely inspired me to improve the process for (potential) translators, and I’m coming up with some ideas for streamlining things on that end.

    Did you already try to contact me via that form? Just wanted to check because I haven’t seen anything yet, and I’ve been waiting on an email from another translator for a week or so too.
