First, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

If that doesn’t work, try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

    Thanks James.
Looks like part of my original post got cut off. I have already tried manually resetting plugins, but that produced the same error messages, with a few more errors along with it.

I will try your other suggestions now.

Ok, please let us know how that goes.

Have tried renaming each theme folder one by one. But still get the wp-settings error messages and no admin panel when logging in. Next, I will try replacing all files except wp-config.php and wp-content folder.

Funny, since I first posted this problem, I have gotten a lot of new user registrations and comments. Appears hackers are watching these threads. Makes sense, since vulnerabilities are revealed here.

    Thanks James! Problem solved.

Replaced all files except wp-config.php and wp-content folder. Got logged into wp-admin panel, deleting 145 bogus users accounts. And deleting spam comments.

I didn’t think about just replacing all the files except content and settings. It definitely did need updating. I learned a long time ago that WP is very easy to break, so I was afraid to mess with too many files. But your suggestion did work. Much appreciated.

    You’re welcome!

Regarding the registrations, you can of course turn that off via Settings -> General if you have no need for user accounts. 🙂

    James,
User Registration was the very first thing I turned off once I got logged in. That was actually the most important goal for me.
