After I upgraded to 2.6, whenever anyone tries to post a comment it only goes to a 404 page. When I look at the url of the 404 page the address is doubled:
http://sizzleonthegrill.com/blog-/wp-content/themes/sizzle/http://sizzleonthegrill.com/blog/wp-comments-post.php.
I upgraded to 2.6.1 but that has its own issues. Instead of displaying the blog it only displays a blank page. I rolled back to 2.6 so will deal with one issue at a time.
Thanks for any help.
The two first things you need to look at are your plugins and theme. Try disabling all plugins and going to the default theme, and see if you still have the problem.
I did disable all the plug-ins and still had the problem. I'm hesitant to switch themes because this is a very busy site and the new theme switcher in 2.6 has a bug. After I switch to default, it won't let me switch back so I have to rename the theme in the database and that is such a hassle. I don't want to fix that bug before I fix the one I'm really trying to fix. I don't feel that it is the theme as it's worked fine all the way up from 2.0.4.
I have 9 WP blogs all running 2.6 and this is the only one with this problem. I think I'll roll it back to it's last stable version, 2.5.1 and then skip 2.6 and go right to 2.6.1. I've been using the latest version of WPAU to upgrade all of them to 2.6.1 and so far 3 for 3 without a hitch. If I keep having that success through the rest then I'll do that on this site too.
I'll let you know what happens.
The rollback to 2.5.1 and then using WPAU to upgrade to 2.6.1 solved all of my problems except the theme switcher bug is still there. I'm a WPAU believer now having used it to upgrade 7 of my 9 sites and not one single problem.
