• 1st I need to say this is an excellent plugin! Well done, and the only good alternative to wp.com comments (which I’m really not a fan of).

But we’re seeing a problem, I had it set so the post author was subscribed to their own posts. However, my client (on of the post authors) kept forwarding me email notifications for emails that were obviously spam. I’d login to the site, and they’d already been taken care of by Akismet. So it appears that Subscribe to Comments is just a little too quick to send out that comment email, and does so before Akismet can process it.

For now I’ve fixed it by unsubscribing him from comments on all posts, since he gets notified anytime there’s a comment, via WP core, for only ones that Akismet has determined are likely legitimate (though it misses plenty). But 1. that still seems like a bug/problem that needs fixed. And 2. it makes me wonder if his users/commenters are getting notifications of spam comments on posts they’ve subscribed to???

Any ideas what’s up? Is this something anyone else has seen?

  • Hello @Teyva,

Thank you for your feedback 🙂 This is the first report about Akismet issues. I will take a look at it and make a debug. Right now I am working on some bugs, but when I get them ready I get back to your post.

    Regards.!!
