Definition of Terms

    Sorry, I am a non-geek. I’m just trying to remove images which are not being used on my WordPress site (don’t appear on any pages). I’m stumbled by the lack of the definitions for the basic terms:

    General, Valid Attachment Meta, Backup Images, Unreferenced Used Images, Unreferenced Unused Images, Obsolete Referenced Images

    What are each of these? Wouldn’t it be useful for the uninitiated such as I for these to be defined on the Description or FAQ pages?

    Also, I happened to come across a dated article which says the plug-in wouldn’t work for images uploaded previous to the plug-in being installed. Is that still true?

    You are quite right. The plugin grew quite a lot in the various iterations. The naming scheme should have a expanded description. I have not found the time to do this yet ;).

    As for images uploaded before the plugin installation not being scanned. That is not the case.
