    Hi,

    Is your issue resolved?

I’m trying to backup my database so I can update to 3.9.2 and subsequently do auto-updates thereafter. The instructions for downloading the plugin file ( 2.1) says that it should be placed into my wp-content/plugins/ folder. How do I locate such folder?

When I download the database backup plugin, it already comes in its own zipped folder called wp-database-backup/ but I don’t know if I’m supposed to 1) change this folder’s name to wp-content/plugins/ or if I’m supposed to 2) find some other folder called wp-content/plugins/ and then unzip the wp-database-backup/ folder into it. If I’m supposed to do option 2) I don’t know where to find the wp-database-backup/ folder.

I just want to be sure that I do the process correctly so that I can successfully activate the plugin through the WP Plugins menu and get it to appear in Dashboard—>Tool—>WP–DB–Backup when I’m ready to use it. I’m concerned about site security and want to update to 3.9.2 immediately, but don’t want to do so without backing up the DB first.

It’s very frustrating not knowing how to move forward or being able to find clear directions that I can understand. Can someone please help?

    Hi Rbey,

You can delete old database backup plugin from wp-content/plugin folder and install latest version.(or deactivate wp-database backup plugin->delete->and install new plugin)

For more information about installation and plugin working you can check following link:
    http://walkeprashant.wordpress.com/wp-database-backup/

or alternatively you can take manual backup.

Follow the steps below for manual database backup:

Login to phpMyAdmin and select your WordPress Database.
Once you have selected the Database, click the tab called “Export”.
Choose a method of compression method (preferred gzip), and click the Execute button
You will see a message in your browser that will ask you to Download this file, click Yes and you will have a backup to your Database now.

If you still face any problem then let us know.
    Happy to Help!!!!
