OK, I have a new problem: I have a CF7 form that sends name & email to Mailchimp through your plugin. Works great. But now that I’m trying to add a phone number, that field isn’t passed on.

I refreshed the plugin so that it would have all the latest info.

The field type is “phone” or “tel” in CF7, Mailchimp and this plugin and the field tag is “PHONE” everywhere. Any ideas?

    The form is at http://yvonnelefort.net/contact-us
The form does pass on the phone field to email, just not to MailChimp

Never mind. Somehow my browser must have been caching something. I tried from a different computer and now it works fine.

    Hi there,

Glad it’s working now, marking this as resolved!

I did take a look at your page and noticed you didn’t prefix your fields with mc4wp-. In order to send additional fields (besides FNAME, LNAME, NAME or EMAIL) to MailChimp you should prefix them with mc4wp- so the plugin knows to send the fields.

Please have a look at the FAQ or this post for info on how to send additional fields from CF7 to MailChimp.

In short, simply prefix the CF7 field with mc4wp- and make sure the field name matches the “merge tag” of the field in your MailChimp list.

Example CF7 mark-up for a MailChimp field named PHONE

    [text* mc4wp-PHONE]

    Hope that helps!

Well, one last question about this then- I prefixed the PHONE field with mc4wp- and when it began to work, took that out again as an experiment- and it still worked. It sounds like you are saying that it should not work without mc4wp-.

I just did experimenting, and I have found that the PHONE field works with or without mc4wp- prepended. So maybe you forgot that you support it natively or something 🙂

But, it doesn’t work either way if I’ve hidden the field in Mail Chimp. Which makes sense but it kinda sucks because I didn’t want the phone field to show up on the Facebook signup form, only on the web site’s contact form. Oh well. I required the phone in CF7, but not in MailChimp so people can leave it out on Facebook if they want.
