Duplicate Images

    Hi

    Love the plugin, I plan on getting some of the add-ons soon.

    When I add an affiliate link with images, the images are duplicated. One image is attached to the link while the other image is unattached. I deleted all of the unattached images and now the images do not appear in the “Add an Affiliate Link” pop-up or the Affiliate Links -> All Affiliate Links -> [Random link] -> Attach Images. However, when I add the affiliate link, the image appears without issue.

    Is this normal? Is this how its meant to work?

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for the message. This is expected behaviour and it’s basically for one reason only and that is because WordPress doesn’t allow Media attachments to be attached to multiple Posts.

    Essentially ThirstyAffiliates will only do this when you are attaching an existing image to the affiliate link. Just in case the existing image is already attached to another post it essentially clones the attachment (but not the image file). Hence why you end up with two attachments.

    OK, thank you for explaining that. Given that I’ve deleted all of the cloned images, what would be the best way to put it back the way it was?

    Hi Andrew,

    Easiest way would be to re-upload the images. You can delete the other images too.
