You can either get a child theme or you can download a custom CSS editor to do this. The one that I have been using is Simple custom CSS.
Then once that is installed copy and paste this code and bada bing bada boom done :-).

padding-top:0;
}

I have a CSS editor I just don’t know what to edit or what new code to put in there.

Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting. Or use whatever developer tool is available in your web browser.
