  • Just came here for the exact same reason. Updating to latest tosses errors even with WP_debug turned off.

Hello 61pixels I think no support by Yoast, there is a lot of questions no asnwered

I am testing embed wordpress but no works for me with Slideshare (works with Youtube and anothers?

    Some alternative?

Have the same problem. Any update or solution?

I can confirm this bug in a wp 3.9.1 multisite.

@ramonjosegn, you can install Jetpack. The Shortcode Embeds module allows to insert slideshare presentations. Look at http://jetpack.me/support/shortcode-embeds/ and http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/slideshare/.

On the other hand, I confirm what 61pixels, andr2 and javism have told before: version 1.9 of SlideShare plugin doesn’t work in WordPress 3.9.1 (multisite and single installations).

Same problem here 🙁 Does anyone know where to download version 1.8?

You can get older versions of the plugin from the Developers tab on the plugin page.

But that’s never considered a good idea. Rather than jumping on an existing topic with “Same here” can you post your own topic with your own details?

    Hi Jan,

Thanks for the feedback. I actually posted “same here” with my error details* in a support post for this plugin with the exact same problem. Note sure if opening a new ticket for the same problem is useful?

    *error details

Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, class ‘SlideShare_Admin’ does not have a method ‘options_init’ in /wordpress/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 470

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /wordpress/wp-includes/plugin.php:470) in /wordpress/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1121

i don’t know if this causes other problems, but i commented out line 38 of slideshare.php and that has silenced the error. since there is no options_init function, it seems like it probably wasn’t doing anything anyway.

    //add_action( 'admin_init', array( &$this, 'options_init' ) );

I’ve just tested the plugin with the change proposed by q7joey and it seems to work, without errors.

I’ve tested two different embeddings: the Slideshare presentation URL and the shortcode for WordPress.com. Both of them work fine. The tests have been performed in a normal WordPress installation, but next week I’ll make another test in a multisite one.

I forgot to test the Slideshare plugin settings page: when changing the default presentations width, an error message appears: “ERROR: options page not found”.

So, version 1.9 is broken, even after making the change proposed by q7joey.

Thank you very much, José. After applying the change, Slideshare plugin works fine.

    Muchísimas gracias por el truco.

    You’re welcome Eduardo,

    De nada 😉
