Yes, it is the same. That message has todo with the tar formart specification. you can use zip to have longer filenames.

Thank for getting back to me so quickly. Please could you tell me how I’d use the zip files to lengthen the file names, then to be able to back up.

You only must edit the backup job and Selecting Zipping in the Gereral Tab.

You can use LongPathTool as well.
