• It would be nice, but if you want to have anything in text in your sliders (i.e. layers) you need to buy it. As it is, there are far better (simpler) sliders out there for free.

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks a lot for you feedback. Can you describe me what do you need exactly? The only thing that is not in the free version is the bar widget which works with text. Here is the demo for it. Is this that you’re looking for?

I just wanted to put some text on a slide. Nothing complicated. Using a different slider plugin now, but thanks for your interest.

In my opinion it’s a misunderstanding. You can add heading item into the layers which is available in the free version. Just add a new layer then drop a heading item into it.

Please contact with me and I will help you to figure out this thing. Here is my email address: daniel@nextendweb.com

    Hi Jeremy,

here is a video where you can check how should you use the layers and the items. Also please note that the free version include the heading item which is a text element. So in my opinion you just easily didn’t find this item. Feel free to share your opinion and ideas about the possible changes. Have a great day! 🙂

Can I create a full width slider, or do I have to buy the pro version for that too.

I can’t see anything in the documentation for full width at all.

My original point may have been a misunderatanding, but I just don’t seem to be able to understand how this plug works at all. I’m coming from using Meta Slider, but my client this time wants some text animations. Layer Slider WP seems to do what I want but the theme screws it up.

    Hi,

yes you can create a layer slider for free. With the free version you can create as many image and text layer as you want. Even more of course the full width also free just you have to configurate it. (The main problem usually that the theme don’t have a full width container.)

Here is a documentation about the full width, but in my opinion the best if you write me an email, then I can help you with this problem.

” I just don’t seem to be able to understand how this plug works at all.”
In my opinion the basic problem that we have items and layers, but if you have 2 minutes I can call you with Skype on Monday and I’m sure that I can show you how to create a cool layer slider with the free version.

PS: Now we’re working on a better usability for this plugin.

    Have a great weekend! 🙂

I just thought I’d let you know that I gave Smart Slider another try and managed to get it to do something that the client likes. The problems were from two directions: The theme (Emporium) just shags the fonts – completely. But having got past that hurdle, I found the way that Smart Slider works is just totally unintuitive. I’m meant to be handing the site over to the client when it is finished and I have to teach them how to use Smart Slider so that every two months they can create their own slides. It’s gonna be a nightmare. I tried talking it through with her yesterday and she got completely fazed too. She asked me whether the Pro version is simpler to use.

Annoying, because things like the responsive behaviour of the sliders is really good.

In my opinion it’s a good start I mean that now you can use. 🙂

The unintuitive maybe true because we tried to add a ton of feature into one slider. I’m sure that you can find a plenty of image slider on this site which our really-really simple. But our slider is a complex all-in-one solution for a lot of more complex solution. Don’t get me wrong I totally understand your point, because now the first is your client.

    Here are my solutions:
1, Now you can create a layout from your slides which is one click and you customer can create similar slides as yours under 2 minutes. It’s the current solution.
2, As I mentioned we’re working on a new GUI so if you’re interested you can join to our project and help our works with your ideas.

The PRO version in my opinion is unnecessary for your client because the method of the creation is the same. The only exception are the following: extra items, extra animations, dynamic feature, extra widget and our personal support.

All in all if you have a little extra time then please feel free to share your ideas about the usability and I’m sure that we will check your thoughts. You can write them directly to my email address too.
