   Hi, my thumbnails are linking to the image, and not showing any effect that I try (thickbox, lightbox, etc.)
   I added <?php wp_head(); ?> to my head tags of my custom theme, as recommended in the faq. That made the thumbnails display properly, but I still can't get the effect to work. Can you suggest anything? Thanks!

   can't help without a link. Anyway switch to the default theme and check it there, disable all other plugins for a test

   I'll try switching to the default theme, but I'm pretty sure it will work then.

   OK, I activated the default theme and it doesn't work

   I'm having this same problem.

   http://www.northeastcoral.com/wordpress - test site. The thumbnails look great but they link to to image and not the effect.

   Drew,
   Make sure you install the lightbox, highslide et.al. plugins and try again. After I did that, things worked better. Still not perfect; the transition effects are not working, but at least I don't go to a new page to see the image.

   Thanks, I'll try installing them. I'm just trying the default effect - i believe its included.

   I'll post back after lightbox install.
