Support » Plugins » Problem Editing Text in Sidebar Widgets

  • Back when sidebar widgets was a plugin, I could use normal editing commands to change or rearrange text in a widget text box (highlighting lines or blocks of text to copy & paste elsewhere, etc).

But now that widgets have been incorporated into the newer WP releases, I can no longer use those commands. To delete a line of text I must backspace through it, letter by letter. If I want to move a line of text from one place to another, I actually have to delete the original line, then type it all over again into the new location – there’s no copy/paste function available.

I have one sidebar text widget that I constantly update (my Netflix movie queue), and this is getting fairly annoying.

    Thanks for any help!

  • ME tooo that is why I came here. I really need to be able to highlight my code in the text widgets and copy –It gets to be a pain.

I have the same problem and it is super annoying. I read on another post you can do this with FireFox but that it’s still really slow. There must be a way they can fix this….
