    As to how the standard bundled Lightbox Effects work with mobile devices (such as your iPhone) that is within the particular bundled library you have chosen. We include the Lightbox effects as a convenience, you may be able to find a more suitable Lightbox Effect you can implement (and turn off the NextGEN Gallery Lightbox Effects) or if you are interested you can upgrade to NextGEN Pro and use the NextGEN Pro Lightbox which works quite well on mobile devices.     I tried all the lightbox effects, and the shutter effect look great in my iphone.
