I see now that this (free) plugin is just a ploy to upgrade to a useful version. The WordPress page, which is meant to describe the plugin, ignores it completely. Instead the page describes the “Pro” version and is basically a selling tool for the Pro version. With misleading information suggesting indirectly that the (free) plugin does certain things, when it does not.

The entire WordPress plugin page describes the Pro version and what it can do. There is hardly any documentation on what the (free) version is capable of, which is basically nothing.

I am amazed that WordPress allows this page or plugin to be listed within the plugin repository especially since the pages primary function is to sell the Pro version.

Fix your page… describe the free version! Do your selling on your own website not the WordPress repository.

Don’t waste your time installing the free version…

Hi, in the current time, this is allowed by wordpress, also GPL allow users to get money from their work too. In other open source platform, they allow authors get money from their work and offer the description of the pro version too.

To be honest, I am a poor guy which living by coding, and to be honest, actually my pro plugin did not have a good sells like I hoped, although it is only $9 for single site license. 🙂 Also to be honest, there are many other author like me hope get money from their hard work too, Sir, I am not a greed guy, at first I offer fully free plugins on wordpress about 6~7 years before, also although I offer 6 plugins on the wordpress platform, actually this is the only one I have a pro version. I think wordpress allow authors promote their hard work is followed GPL and basically I think this is a open platform, wordpress do stopped many things like do not allow add hidden link in themes and plugins to protect users’s safe, but on the other hand, wordpress allow author to promote their pro version so this attract more author offer their free work on this great platform, if some day wordpress team say author can not promote their pro version in their readme.txt, I am happy to follow any rule on the platform and I am still happy offer my free work on wordpress platform. 🙂
