Password Protected Page Is Not Working

I’m having trouble with the wordpress default, password protected page option. I have selected the option to password protect my page and I have entered my password, however, when I view the page, it passes it as if it was never their.

Let me preface by saying, It has worked before. I believe It may have something to do with the fact that I have not enabled it to be viewed in the navigation menu. If that’s not the case, then I am certain it is a coding error, because I have tried pasting in a code to my functions.php to edit a custom text on the password protected page form.

This worked, but It did not have the password/submit button or field, so I deleted the code, and after that, I may have effected the wordpress default somehow.

Can someone please tell me what my best course of action should be?
