I am trying to understand the best approach when you have multiple categories assigned to the same post? For example, I would like to have the following setup on the right hand side:

    Standard Widget
    Standard Widget
Custom Aware Widget 1 (Displayed on Category A)
Custom Aware Widget 2 (Displayed on Category B)
Custom Aware Widget 3 (Displayed on Category C)
    Standard Widget
    Standard Widget

I haven’t figured out how to incorporate all of this into one widget setup, so I ended up created three different content aware widget setups for each Category that I am targeting (each one replaces the main default widget setup).

However, what ends up happening is that I get duplicate widgets when viewing a post that happens to fall under more than one category (e.g., Category A and Category B).

Please advise what the best approach is for what I am trying to accomplish without having duplicate widgets displayed. Thanks!

I am not sure what you mean about Custom Aware Widget, but in the latest version, I introduced a handle called “Forced replace” which I think would suit your needs.

Sorry, I meant to write “Content” aware… not Custom aware. Basically, I want all my widgets to be the same on all pages except for those three that I had referenced as being my “custom” widgets, which only show based on the category that correlates with them.

If using the Forced Replace, is the best approach to set up three different content aware sidebar setups for each category and then indicate that each one do a force replace of the main default widget? I am still getting duplicates on those posts that are assigned to more than one category. Thanks.

Nevermind, the “Forced Replace” did the trick. I just had to assign it to both of the content aware widgets and configured them both to replace the main default sidebar. Thanks!
