Serving different pages to first time and returning visitors

    I have a static welcome page and a different blog page. What I would like to do is to only show the static page to first time visitors and send returning visitors to the blog page.

    I haven’t been able to locate a plugin to do this so I’m wondering if there is a bit of code snippet I can add to my theme header.

    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
