Excerpt Not Showing Embedded Video Anymore

The previous version had no problem with showing an embedded Hana/Flowplayer video embed. Upgrading the Auto Except Plugin replaces the video player on the homepage or post page with some code like

“.mejs-inner img { max-width:100%; max-height:100%; margin:0 ; padding:0 } .mejs-overlay-button, .mejs-overlay-loading {display:none;} .me-plugin { position: static; }”

As a result I cannot upgrade the plugin. Is there anyway for me to fix this issue with the newest version of the plugin or should I just keep using the older version of the plugin?
