I had some trouble using these images. WordPress wouldn't thumbnail greyscale8 images, so I converted them to RGB and the thumbnails were created. However, now the gallery is displayed with a huge margin to the left, and the fancyzoom plugin doesn't work.
Uploading other jpegs to the page displays the gallery perfectly.
