Support » Plugin: Fixed Widget and Sticky Elements for WordPress » I only want my first widget to be fixed: overlapping issue

  • Hi!
I only want my first widget to be fixed. But as soon as I scroll down, it just overlapps the other plugins. Is there a chance that the fixed widget sort of pushes the other widgets so that my fixed one always keeps its position (= stays on top) and the others dissapear without a bad looking overlapping?
    Thanks!

Well… this is a difficult question.

First, if you want to push other widgets down you need to make all of them fixed!

Another way is to make copy of the first widget, place it at sidebar bottom, and fix the last widget.

Thank you, the idea to only fix the last one works. But I decided to kick some widgets off my blog and fix them all. 🙂
    Cheers!

Or maybe give the fixed widget a non-transparent background. Then the overlapping is optically not that bad.

That actually sounds nice. Is there a trick to do that to widgets that don’t offer a transparent/non-transparent background?

You can assign background to widget directly in theme (or child theme) style.css file! But a little programming required )
