• Hi Donncha, hope you’re well.

I’ve got a problem that is in part inherent and in part a bug:

Our website already has over 42,000 articles (posts) — and this number will continue growing at a rate of 15,000 a year at least.

But the file system is limited to 32,000 sub-directories, which means that the supercache dir for the site at some point gets filled up without the ability to create new cache versions of articles.

So that’s problem #1, which effectively means I can’t probably use Preload Mode anymore, which for us is a real issue. Is there any solution you can think of? Perhaps adding an additional subdir depth (e.g. first letter – dir with a, b, c, etc)?

The 2nd problem, which I think is a bug:
I changed the preload settings from preload “all” posts to preload “4980” posts (the minimum possible). I clicked on “update settings”. A day later, I look — it’s back to preload “all” posts”. I change the settings again. A day later — it’s back to “all”… For whatever reason, it just reverts back at some point and won’t adhere to the limit…

    Thanks for your help,

    Bira
