Bypass/Override global lightbox setting

Great plugin! I have my images opening in a lightbox by default. Is there any way to disable lightbox for an image that I want to open in a new window? Perhaps a tag that I can add to the link rel that overrules “lightbox”?
I know it’s a long shot, but I appreciate the assistance!
