• Hi,

I am not sure if this is possible or not.
    I have a hierarchy.. .

    Country
    Region 1
    State 1
    State 2
    Region 2
    State 1
    State 2

Now i create a City post & tag it to a state. let say State 2 in Region 1

    My requirement is:

1 created a page where i created some blocks for Region 1 ,2 & so on
no i want the site to be like…

    when i click on region 1 output is State 1 & State 2 listed…
as we get when we add the category hierarchy to the menu

on the second page where states are listed i click on a state & it shows me the list of cities that are tagged against that category.

when i click a specific city system should open the actual city post.

    how do i do this?
    site: http://www.vacationthisyear.com
click on North india –> Read more button.

    Hi Michael,

thanks for the plugin details but i guess, i did not make my query clear enough. 🙁
    Will try to elaborate more.

    As above

on 1st page i click a region the system opens a new page (customizr page for category display) with the list of all posts in that category i.e. North in my case.

Now i want that if i click on any of the options (eg. state 1), the same customizr page with category display should open up this time with the posts tagged as state 1

as of now i have to create a new page as an intermediary & link with the other posts for cities…

if u can try accessing vacationthisyear.com & click North india (read more option)

to open second page… click Himachal pradesh
this is where i need help & this might give you an idea on my requirement.

Hey bud, Right, you want categories to open up into subcategories, this is a tutorial for such a mod here if you need more help just let us know.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for the article this is something i am looking at.
The problem is that i am not versed in php language 🙁
if you can guide me how & where to use the code it will be a great help.

Hey bud, I’m really beginning to understand what you want, let me ask you, when I click Himachal, you want Himachal to open up into more subcategories, like cities?

    Thread Starter abhinav_khanna2008

    (@abhinav_khanna2008)

    yes..

this will basically be my actual post for cities.
eg. cities like Simla, Dalhousie, Manali will be tagged against category Himachal.

1st step: Home page for regions
2nd step: Customizr Category archive page of state categories marked against region in step 1
3rd step: Customizr Category archive page of City categories displaying cities marked against category in step 2

Need help on 3rd step to open the Customizr category archive page.

Watch this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lliQtYfq8g tell me if this helps because there are a few ways we can accomplish this

    1. Homepage for regions
    2 main categories are states
    3 subcategories are cities.

    Hi Michael,

This video show the Category widget/category as menu.
I have already setup a menu with this approach but i want some thing to work with linking 2 display pages.

    thanks for all the help.

someone will help you, I’m sure, there are many great people here, just hang in there, best of luck, sorry I couldn’t get this resolved.

You’d need a forms plugin of some sort to do it easily. I’m not sure.

Alternatively, if you want to use Customizr functionality, you could use an accordion. It’s part of the underlying Bootstrap 2.3.2. Details here: http://getbootstrap.com/2.3.2/javascript.html#collapse

    Hi Michael,

I appreciate your efforts in here 🙂

    Hi Electricfeet,

I’ll give this a try but it looks a bit technical to me & i may not be able to handle this but i’ll give it a try.
