Jetpack Proofread is broken by Subscribe2

I have posted the problem on Subscribe2 forum as well and reported it to Jetpack team. I am writing here for the record in case others may be having this problem.

Jetpack proofread document used to offer suggestions when a highlighted word or phrase was clicked. That function is no longer working even after JP 3 and the newest release of 3.0.1. I have traced the problem to the presence of Subcribe2 plugin being active. When I deactivate it, the suggestion drop-down pops up. When I activate Subscribe2 suggestions no longer appear when a highlighted word is clicked.

I have also reported the issue to Subscribe2 team.
