    Error:
Trying to get property of non-object in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/custom-sidebars/customsidebars.php on line 294

So, it looks like this is being caused by the storeOriginalPostId() method.

I get this error when I search for a term with no results. So if I search for ‘testing’ I get results with no problem but if I search for ‘tetsing’ I get a white screen and the error above is logged.

Ok, this is just a notice so it’s not really hurting anything. and it turns out it’s not whitescreening, the error is just pushing all of the content way down on the page so it looks like a whitescreen. It seems the problem is more associated with the dislaying the notice than an issue with the plugin. Still, it would be nice to know why I’m getting that notice.

    Hi @gpspake,

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

To resolve this issue i have to reproduce it on my test site.

Could you please help me to reproduce this issue by providing some more information about it like how you have configured it?

    Are you using BuddyPress?

Which version of Custom sidebars plugin are you using?

Please share me the page link where you are getting this error.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi @gpspake,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve been trying to replicate this but haven’t been able to thus far.

Could you please try deactivating other plugins, switching to a default theme (Twenty Fourteen for example) and trying it with that?

If it works without errors, then you can try switching back to your theme and seeing how it works with that, then by reactivating plugins one-by-one.

That’ll help to find if there’s a conflict. As I can’t seem to replicate it, I’m just wondering if it’s due to a conflict.

Could you also maybe let us know your WordPress and PHP versions?

    Thanks,
    David
