• I recently noticed my admin and URL became really excruciatingly slow to use – I called Godaddy but they said it wasn’t their fault so i’m assuming it’s a wordpress issue. Nothing on my website has changed, but nonetheless it has become so much slower. I’ve been reading some posts on here and I have removed any plugins that were non-essential (but I’m still running about 8). I updated all plugins and themes.

FYI – I’m kind of a novice when it comes to websites. Someone else built it for me, but I’m kind of the one left to deal with whatever issues arise.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

    my website is RABFilm.com

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I deactivated all the plugins and it’s still slow as ever. Didn’t even make a dent of a difference

Leaving all plugins inactive, switch to the default 2014 theme and see if that helps.

Take a look at this plugin. Install it, activate it and then take a second look at your dashboard.

At the top, in the admin bar you will see the query monitor at work where you can then track where your bottlenecks are happening.

Do I replace my theme with the twenty 14 theme by just clicking “activate” ?

Yep – that’s all there is to it.

Alright – before I go to default theme I ran Query Monitor. Does this say anything significant? I don’t really know how to read it.

What’s the problem with switching to the 2014 theme for 10 minutes or so to see if it helps?

Alright – I just switched over to a default 2014 Theme. I’ll let it run for 10 mins and report back

Switching Themes didn’t change anything. Everything is still running at baby speed

Then we’ve pretty much confirmed that this is a GoDaddy issue – which doesn’t surprise me one little bit. 🙁

I know that you called Godaddy & they said it wasn’t their fault but, frankly, they always say that. Often without really checking. To be honest, in your shoes, I’d be looking round for a better host rather than sticking to such a sub-standard one.

Well before I call them back – do you understand anything about what this image is saying? http://postimg.org/image/qrzxmi6vd/

It says i have 10 slow querys

    Those MOTHER F*&#$RS

They admitted it was their fault.

    I’m so mad.

If you use w3t cache, you might try unchecking object cache. That did it for me, and I’ve seen others say that.
