Do they see the option submit for review? That would be how they can save the post. Or they can click save draft.

Hi, Yes they had the submit for review option, but when they clicked on it the content was deleted.
Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

Hi, not authorised to disable plugins. Was just wondering if this is a common problem or not. Have side stepped this issue for now by making them an author, but ideally don’t want to have to leave the user with this level of access.
It is not a typical problem. It is most likely being caused by a plugin. The best way to test that, is to turn them all off and set the website to the default Twenty Fourteen theme and then turn each plugin back on 1 by 1 and test.
