As with 2.9.1, it is impossible to change from visual to HTML post editing in FireFox.
This problem existed for an earlier version, 2.6 I think (if I remember correctly, 2.5 was OK), then got fixed after that, then came back again for 2.9.1 and 2.9.2.

Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
