   I received the following after starting the indexing process:

   Rebuilding Index ...
   Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 5785 bytes) in /home/buildip0/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpsearch/wpSearch.php on line 368

   As best I can tell, php.ini shows a 32mb memory allocation.

   An update - I was able to get the WPSearch index to build. I disabled all plugins, built the index and re-enabled my other plugins. Far from ideal but it got WPSearch working.

   However, in order to continue using WPSearch, I had to disable Headspace2 due to a conflict between WPSearch and Headspace2 which I've reported separately - [Plugin: wpSearch] Conflict between WPSearch and Headspace2.

   I also had troubles building the index even after adjusting wpsearch folder permissions as suggested in the doco.

   The indexing stage just seemed to hang (about one hour) - this screen requires status messages if possible.

   Have uninstalled and reverted back to the search plugin I was using previously.

   Hey Guys,

   I just released wpSearch 1.5.0.5 about 5 minutes ago, and the memory issue should be addressed. So far, one wpSearch user has had their memory issue fixed with the update.

   Thanks for bringing this up, ririzaryy.

   To rschilt, the indexing page definately needs a status bar, but in light of the last major bug, it had to take a back seat. The page hangs because your index is building, which can take a long time depending on the number of posts / comments in your blog.

   The last benchmarking of wpSearch resulted in a full index build of 6,000 light posts in about 45 minutes. This is a necessary part of wpSearch (if we were using Java, and not PHP, it would be done in a minute or two).

   Once this process is over, is unlikely that you would have to do it again until an upgrade.

   I updated the plugin to 1.5.0.5 and still have the issue where the build just hangs. I have approximately 1000 posts and no more than 300 comments. The plugin definitely needs a status bar. Will retry once a later release includes this function.

   Just to followup on my previous response - I let the build sit there for four hours after which I had to give up.

   @rschilt - Did you try disabling plugins, building the index and then reenabling? It's not an ideal approach especially if you're heavily dependent on plugins and don't have code in place to avoid breaking your site by doing so. However, it would eliminate the possibility of a conflict between WPSearch and another plugin.

   Ririzarry,

   Greatly appreciate the feedback and that's probably the next thing that I would have tried. But for now I'm going to stick with my current search plugin. Will probably give WPSearch a re-go with a future release.
