  • I’m having the exact same problem. I”m in an endless get password loop.

You need to clear your browser cookies (and on some browsers clear the cache). Then close the browser and go back in.

you mentioned you found out config.php changed so you upgraded it…All the files in the WordPress root directory must be upgraded by overwriting the current ones. That could be why you’re having problems…

Try clearing your cache and cookies. Then actually close the browser all together. Reopen the browser and you should be able to log in.

mrmist & desertmagic – Oh baby! I was having the same problems and clearing cache/cookies and reboot of browser did the trick. Do you know if this problem will re-occur with future log-in attempts?

No, it’s down to a change in behaviour of the login cookies, you should only see it once (per blog / upgrade).

I have the same problem on

    http://www.ShawnDrewry.com

I upgraded to 2.6 and can’t login. Then, I downgraded back to WordPress 2.5. I was able to log back in. Then, upgraded again and upgraded the database to WordPress 2.6. Now, not only can I NOT login, but the entire site is knocked off. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to clear your cookies and reload.

Desert Magic Thankyou – that worked for me.
Same symptoms as – dtcalrinet. I followed all the insructions carefully even tried password reset 2x. Clearing the broser worked.

Can someone add the suggestion to ‘clear the browser history’ to the email that provides the reset password – then noone will have to come here to find Desert Nagics excellent, simple, cure 🙂

    thanks
