Typography need further options for controlling font colour

For some reason I can’t adjust all of the font colours on all the sites that I have installed Pinboard.

I want a pale colour for the Menu bar with dark colours for the fonts. When you visit one of the pages linked in the menu, the font changes colour so that you cannot see it in the menu any more.

How can I make the links for the ‘current page’ visible in the menu when the menu bar is a pale colour?

I’d also like to change the font colour of the meta information at the head of the articles and in the footer. They seem to be a default pale blue or grey.
