• Hello, I’m running Jetpack on current version WordPress sites with an older theme – due to be replaced this summer. I just wanted to give you a heads up on an issue that I noted while attempting to make connections on some WP network sites.

When I try to run Jetpack connect on more than a few sites at a time, I get

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /data/subdir/wp-includes/class.wp-scripts.php:78) in /data/subdir/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php on line 3946

IF I just use the “Connect” link then they work just fine without error. What threw me was that when the bulk option was used and errored, it showed the status as connected. I didn’t realize it hadn’t worked. You might want to modify the code to check for errors before updating status.

    Thanks.

Thanks for reporting this. Besides the older theme, was there anything particularly noteworthy about the process? Any particular number being activated at one time seem to trigger the failure?

I’d like to try to duplicate this, but would like to have a better sense of the setup to save a bit of time 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi Brandon,
I tried it on two and as many as 8 sub-sites and it always failed. I can’t imagine it’s a particular issue with Jetpack and more likely an issue with our setup. I just don’t know where to look to help narrow it down.

Hmm. I’d try disabling all other plugins and seeing if that makes a difference first. I’m not sure what other plugin would be conflicting, but it’s a typical first step.

I’d also check your php error logs to see if there is any additional information there that wasn’t printed out to the screen when it occurred.
