• Is there a way to protect woocommerce product categories and the shop pages created by WooCommerce (the pages that are not editable)?

I’ve created 2 product categories that relate to 2 membership levels. I need the items assigned to category 1 to be available to only membership level 1 accounts; and I need the items assigned to category 2 to be available to only membership level 2 accounts. I’ve been to “Membership > Membership Levels” to tick the product categories I need to protect but no product categories are listed there.

    What have I missed?

  • Hey there,

Currently, products cannot be restricted by membership level, but this is a feature that is requested often so we may add it later.

The easiest way to do this would be to use product category shortcodes on a restricted page. However, this is not foolproof because products can be added other ways (including even just typing a special URL in the browser if they know the product ID).

Also, if you’re willing to pay for the feature to be added sooner, we might be able to figure something out and work it into our schedule if you contact us.

    Hope that clears things up!

    Thanks,
    Jess

any outcome to this? i need similar solution ASAP!

    Hi,
I am developing a website using BuddyPress on WordPress, using PMPro to restrict content & WooCommerce to buy membership. In WooCommerce the payment option is online payment (local Indian payment gateway CCAvenue).

Everything has been set properly. My only issue is user accounts are being generated even for all orders. I would want user accounts for only successful orders so only those who have had a successful online transaction would have an account. In WooCommerce Account settings I have checked “Enable registration on the “Checkout” page”. Am I going wrong anywhere?

    Please help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best,
    Huzan
