    Hi michaelisc,

Would you be able/willing to email me at justinsainton at gmail dot com with your WP admin credentials so I can dig deeper and see what the issue might be?

@michaelisc can you confirm that the shipping and billing state is configured to show on your store checkout settings?

I took a look at the HTML that is on your checkout page and it appears that the row in the checkout table that would contain the state drop down is not present.

Feel free to post back here and I will do what I can to help you figure this out.

Thank you. What I can confirm is that in the “Checkout” section of the dashboard settings there is no “Shipping state” or “Delivery state” choice only shipping and delivery country which formerly included the 50 states for the United States in a drop down box. I have tried several combinations of settings to no avail.

I can also report that the “same as billing” check box is not showing even though it has been set and re-set to appear repeatedly.

Update. I have now been able to enable the billing state. I changed a setting in the set up with the name “billingstate.” That made the state drop down box appear. However, the “same as billing” box refuses to appear as does the “shippingstate” choice.

@michaelisc can you share admin credentials? I could nog in and see if there is another setting that isn’t correct. If you do google hangouts we could screen share it. jeff @ pyebrook dot com

@michaelisc Just confirming, did you also enable the shippingstate field in checkout settings? And is shipping same as billing enabled in settings?

Not seeing it when I debug the HTML

Yes to both questions. But something is keeping this instruction from being implemented.

I am going back and deactivating plugins to see if that is the issue.

Pye Brook and Justin Sainton please check emails for a temporary administrator notification and password.

I’ve tried deactivating all plugins to no avail. I’m now completely stumped.

@michaelisc I couldn’t find the email with the admin credentials, can you resend?

    found them, i’m in now

I’ve been looking at the site, have to admit I am pretty stumped here. Has there been any changes to the default WP-e-Commerce theme files included in the distribution?

    @michaelisc
Ok so after Jeff (@Pye Brook) called in for reinforcements heres what i`d like you to try:

    1. Backup your website. Do this first so you have a copy in case something goes wrong.

    2. Using FTP go in the wp-content/uploads/wpsc folder and remove the folder called “themes”.
After step 2 the list of files in the Store->Presentation should look like the one in the image below:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16683640/Screenshots/2014-05-05_0220.png

If they look like that then proceed with step 3.

    3. Go to Store -> Presentation page and on the right side box (Advanced theme settings) click the Flush Theme Cache button.

Now retry your Checkout page again.

Your theme was using wpec theme files that belonged to WP e-Commerce version 3.6 (quite old).

Let us know how it goes after that.

Thank you for that suggestion. I have to report, though, that this did not work. I’ve tried it in several browsers to see if that was the issue. Nope. I deactivated and reactivated. Nothing. I currently don’t have a caching program running due to an incompatibility with W3 Total Cache so I can’t clear the cache.

    Any other suggestions?

I just updated to the latest wp ecommerce and am having the same problem. Please report back when the fix is found.

@sarjan7 You should double check your checkout settings and make sure that the billingstate / shipping state fields are present, and are not hidden.

That was part of the issue.
