Hi Allyson,
In WordPress 3.9 the TinyMCE version that is used by WordPress was upgraded from version 3.X to 4. TinyMCE dropped support for other colors in version 4 which is why it is no longer available in WordPress.

Matthew,
Seriously? That is ridiculous, especially for those of us who like to use color subtitles in our posts.
Any work-arounds?

Then please try telling that to the developers of TinyMCE (ie not WordPress).

Thanks esmi… got your hint loud and clear. Do you have any good contacts at TinyMCE? I’d be happy to send them a nice little email.
I wish I did but sadly, I don’t. 🙁 There is, however, a forum at http://www.tinymce.com/forum/index.php

Since then, I can no longer access “other colors” in the Text Color drop-down menu in my posts.
Can you try this plugin and let use know here if that fixes it for you?

I’ve not tried it myself but if it does give you what you need then that would be good to know.

Esmi, I have sent them a support request via their forum (their site is as slow as a turtle). I’ll keep you posted on what they say.
Jan, I just added the plugin and it works BEAUTIFULLY! It also allows me to use a background color. Thanks so much!

Thanks for letting us know and I’m glad that worked out.
Do you mind if you mark this topic “resolved”? Esmi and I get WordPress cafeteria punches in our lunch tickets when you do. 😉
