changes to advanced image editing and text colour with latest upgrade

    Hi
    I’m using firmasite theme – and with your latest WordPress upgrade I have lost two majorly important features:

    1. text colour – more options has disappeared leaving a very restricted colour palette which

    2. on the advanced image editing button – the ability to insert vertical and horizontal space around images has been removed.

    Both of these are pretty disastrous for me.
    Can these reversals be addressed by WordPress?

    Hi Olivia.

    The items you mentioned are due to the upgrade of TinyMCE to version 4 from the version 3 used in previous WordPress Versions. To maintain the functionality you could either revert back to 3.8.* or follow up with other TinyMCE version 4 plugins that have those capabilities.

    For adding vertical and horizontal space on an image you could use the css fields found under advanced settings of the editor to put padding and margins on the image.

    @matthew Denton: That is very poor advice. To do so would mean that the site would be running a very real risk of being hacked!

    Thank you for this advice to install the Advanced Image Styles plug-in http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-image-styles/ This solved the problem! I don’t understand why the advanced image editing was taken away, but I have it back now.
