Unable to change the home page

    I have been here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page, but I am unable to figure out how to change my current home page to a different one. When I Go to Administration > Settings > Reading panel, the page I wish to be the home page is not in the list in the drop down menu. I changed the home page before but cannot remember how, or figure it out (or something in WordPress has changed?)
    Please advise. Thanks!

    Thanks for your response, I appreciate it. I got it working; it turns out the page was listed in the drop down menu after all, but under a different name.
