There has to be a better solution than forcing me into bankruptcy.
I now did some new 2.61 installs and have the same problem. I'm not going to cause myself many hours of unpaid work every time I want to save the options.php.
Hasn't someone looked into what exactly the problem is?

It got fixed with one of the upgrades.
