Make sure your reading settings are set up correctly. Go to settings > reading and select the page you want to use as your blog page for the “posts page” dropdown. You could also try clearing the permalinks, just go to settings > permalinks and hit save (you don’t have to change any settings). That will clear your permalinks.
Ryan – Thank you for the prompt response. Well that was interesting. I had checked earlier and “Blog” was the setting for Posts. However, when I changed it to “Resources” for that page, the blog posts appeared. They appeared again when I changed it to “Contact.” However, I just checked and the Resources page is not showing content and the News isn’t either, but I think the News is just to change the feed they had subscribed to. Thanks for your help on this. Any insight into what is occurring?
Your response is a little confusing. Check to see if the posts are showing up on the page that you selected as the “posts page”. You can change that setting to whatever page you want the main blog to be on.
Sorry. If I use Settings > Reading and use Blog for dropdown (and the slug for the blog page is “blog”, no posts show. However, when I changed the drop down to “Resources” the posts appeared. But… the actual Resources page shows “Nothing to see” and I don’t know if that is recent or has been an issue all along. It, too, had a setting in Custom Field on the page that was tied to the test theme. I removed it, but no change. I’m scratching my head here.
That sounds like a weird theme issue. I’ve seen it before when a theme overrides the WP reading settings. Can you test on one of the default themes?
Mika – Thank you for the suggestion. The person told me they were going to work on the site over the weekend. I’m going to review on Monday and get an update.
