Tags not displaying in search results

    Hi,

    I’ve been trying a few Search plugins and think I’ve settled on your one because it seems to fit my needs best, so thank you for that.

    However, I seem to be having a problem and I don’t know if it’s been caused by trying various Search plugins (I’ve deleted all the others and only ever had 1 active at a time).

    The problem is that if I search on a term that is only present as a tag on the post, it isn’t returned in the search results. So, let’s say my post is tagged with “Example” (and the word “Example” isn’t anywhere in the body) it isn’t returned in the search results.

    I’m pretty sure while I’ve been testing the various Search plugins that this wasn’t happening before but I don’t know what would have caused tags to stop displaying in search results. I’ve checked the plugin settings and nothing seems to be wrong.

    Do you have any suggestions as to what could cause this or what I could do to fix it?

    I’d check Relevanssi settings – have you enabled tags in search? You can try reindexing the database. Also make sure the search results are actually coming from Relevanssi – change the excerpt or highlight settings somehow and see if the excerpts look different.

    Hi Mikko,

    Thanks so much for getting back to me. I have no idea why, but when I checked again today tags are now showing up correctly in searches. Maybe it was a caching or indexing issue or something but it seems to be working perfectly now.
