   When you start the upgrade process, instead of doing the upgrade it brings up this link: http://virus9-webscanner.com/2009/1/_freescan.php?aid=880147

   What kind of crap is this?

   It totally derails the upgrade process (to 2.6) and makes it unable to finish the upgrade.

   Try doing a manual upgrade by replacing the WordPress files.
