I’m developing a WP site with a MAMP stack using the Mantra theme and the following plugins: Contact Form 7 (v3.8), Better WordPress reCAPTCHA (v1.1.0), and Contact Form 7 reCAPTCHA Extension (v.0.1.0). I visited the Google reCAPTCHA site and installed the public and private keys for BWP reCAPTCHA for my dev url. A reCAPTCHA image appeared in the plugin admin. After installing your plugin, I followed directions, and added a shortcode to the markup on the CF7 admin. Result: no reCAPTCHA image loaded in CF7 front end. Google Chrome developer tools does not show the reCAPTCHA being loaded on the page. It also does not give an error message. Any suggestions on what to do next?

I’ve installed Contact Form 7 3.8, Contact Form 7 reCAPTCHA Extension 0.1.0, and WP-Recaptcha 3.2; I’ve added the short code to my Contact Form, and I get the following error instead of the reCAPTCHA on the form:

    Input error: Invalid referer.

What needs to be done to fix this?

The reCAPTCHA image did appear on CF7 when I move the site from a local dev server to a web host (DreamHost). Unfortunately, when I tried a test email using CF7 and reCAPTCHA, I ran into an infinite loop, and the email never went out. I chose to take down the 3 plugins (CF7, Better WP reCAPTCHA, and reCAPTCHA Extension), and use a different contact form plugin with a built in CAPTCHA capability.

    how is this resolved?

As far as I’m concerned, it’s resolved because I found another solution with another plugin that met my needs. From a technical standpoint, it remains unresolved. Keep in mind that most plugins are maintained as side projects by their developers. As you can see by this thread, the PI authors never bothered to get involved and troubleshoot the issue. In the world of free plugins (and with 30K of them in the WP repo), basically we’re all on our own in working out problems that arise with individual plugins. Given that situation, I decided to pursue another course to meet my site’s needs.

Which alternative plugin did you use to work around this issue?

@logobot: I used the latest version of Fast Secure Contact Form. Install through your WP backend, or download and install from the WP plugin repo. Good luck!
