I updated http://midtowngr.com to WordPress 3.9 today. I’m not sure that it’s the problem, but I disabled all plugins to no avail.

The front page is blank, as you’ll see.

I can acces WP-admin (etc) but any change I make results in a blank admin side, until I delete the URL path to just /wp-admin and reload. I was getting a PHP error as well but am unable to replicate.

I deleted iThemes Security (once Better WP Security) due to the bugs it was affecting on my other sites. I’d hoped that would clear the issue. I am awaiting the company to give me FTP access (was lost a long time ago by them and they just never got around to getting it to me) to tear things out. In the mean time, any thoughts? I’m assuming .htaccess is key here.

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Switched to TwentyFourteen.
    Updated Theme via FTP.
Updated WordPress again via FTP (sans WPContent folder, .htaccess, and config).
Tried to deactivate all plugins – now can’t access back end or front end.

    What the heck?

Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.
