• Hi!

I find this plugin PERFECT! I just have 3 little questions regarding the translations to make it 100% usefull for my website.

    1. My homepage changes menu and widgets language when you go to spanish BUT I cant make slider images change to spanish ones.

    2. ALSO I cant make the text below to change. The homepage calls for a static page there so I thought making the same static page in spabish and telling polylang that one is the spanish version would work, but it doesnt.

    3. If you go to the inside, for exmaple benefits page you will see a contact widget on the sidebar. I cant seem to change the address-phone titles for that either.

Any ideas for this 3 little problems?

    THANKS SO MUCH PEOPLE!!!

    Hello,

Generally theme options can be translated using a wpml-config.xml file.

hi! maybe this can help with a widget but I can´t see how to do it for the slider images and the text on homepage… sorry… I only have a bit of knowledge in code… not much… no idea how to tell polylang to change images on slider according to language… you think I can do that with this wpml?

I don’t know how this slider is done internally, so it’s hard to help. Some themes use custom post types and you can choose to manage languages for it in Polylang settings.

Could you explain how fo you setup this slider?

Ok, the widget I have to check it out. I couldnt see that yet.

The text on homepage comes from a page. Now, when I make a spanish page and tell polylang that is the spanish version of the page for home it changes nothing. I have no idea how else to do that.

The slider is set on theme options. You upload all the images you want. The thing is I have images with text and I have the same image with the text in spanish but cant link both english and spanish images for polylang so the slider changes…

It is possible that your slider stores the pictures included in the slider as an option. In that case, the wpml-config.xml will be the solution.

Do the pictures of the slider appear in the media library? If yes, did you translate them? Are you able to choose pictures from the media library (instead of uploading them) to put them in the slider? If all of this is ok, did you try to put both English and Spanish in your slider? With some themes, it works.

Maybe, you can get more information from the theme author.

Hi, that is not the issue. I can see slider images on media library BUT polylang doesnt let me translate the images. Once on media library I choose an image, when I do so I can click the + to add a spanish version of that image but that only makes like a copy of the image where I can change title and description or caption. I want to change the image itself.
When you go to a page, for example, I can choose between all the pages to tell polylang which one is the spanish version of it. With images I cant. It just copy the same image and you can only change the description.
Did you enter to the link I gave you? Slider has 2 images. Each image has a text. The text is no caption nor description, its in the image… I would need to use a different image for slider in spanish… not the same with a different description… ;(

Yes. Sorry I mixed myself. Sometimes ideas are not that clear on the evening 🙁 Sure you don’t need to translate the pictures.

    To try to clarify:
With some themes, you have to do like this: include all images in all languages in theme options and Polylang just filters them by language on front page. It depends much on how the theme has been written to make this work.

Have you custom post types listed in Polylang settings?

Sorry I went away and didnt answer sooner.- I had a personal problem and my client took some time now. She is waiting for some photos for the slider and a few things. I will check with her when she comes back all she wants to do on the site to finish it and then I will write back to you. IIt can take a long time so I want to wait a bit.

    Thanks so much!
I will get in touch later again.
