   Hi,

   this is the first time when i'm doing it...

   -i'm exporting the xml file with "posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories..."
   -...then i want to save all the users... from phpmyadmin i save only wp_users and wp_usermeta.
   -...delete all www content then fresh install 2.6 and import the xml files and users database.

   it will work like this? tell me please if i miss something...

   ha..you and me think alike.

   I did exactly what you describe for the 2.5.1 upgrade ..and it worked fine. I'm about to do the same with 2.6.

   Although i have to go through a few extra steps because my wordpress install is fat - 20,000+ posts :(

   2.6 is sweet but a managed upgrade process would be sweeter.

   ...installed WP 2.6 running smoth haha... :)

   there is one more problem

   i have a blog with many users. How can i make to modify the dashboard when a user log in to direct him to is profile, i don't want to see dashboard ..Right Now and all that

   and one more thing when a user register the email is sent by "wordpress" how can i change that to appear my blog name. thanks

   Excellent Questions, ovd. I have the exact same 2 questions.

   I want to Export my Users from my old blog (WP 2.5) and Import Users to my new blog, new database, WP 2.6.

   Then I also want to redirect all Non-Administrators to see "Write Post" instead of "Dashboard."

   Anyone know these answers please?
